Despite the summer transfer window ending just over a week ago, Barcelona could already be setting plans in motion for their next signings when the market reopens.

This is according to Mundo Deportivo, who report that Barcelona is set to take advantage of the fact the players have contracts set to expire in 2025.

The players in question are German internationals Joshua Kimmich and Jonathan Tah, who play for Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen respectively.

Joshua Kimmich has been long linked with a move to the Catalan club, although recent reports could indicate they may face opposition from rivals Real Madrid to make a move happen.

Jonathan Tah meanwhile hasn’t had the same onslaught of rumours, but would still be a major signing, thanks in part to the massive role he played in Leverkusen’s almost-perfect season last time out.

The defender has come out to say that he will leave the German champions upon the expiry of his contract, making a move not outside the realms of possibility for Hansi Flick.

The prospect of playing under a German coach may be a big pull factor for these two stars, as it could help them adjust to La Liga more quickly.
