Bayern Munich are German champions and Schalke have been relegated from the Bundesliga but there’s still plenty to play for as the season enters its last two weekends.

Every club still has two matches to play, and here’s what’s at stake.

As it stands

  1. 3rd – Wolfsburg – 60 points (+25 goal difference)
  2. 4th – Dortmund – 58 points (+25)
  3. 5th – Frankfurt – 57 points (+15)

The remaining two places will go to two of VfL Wolfsburg (60 points), Borussia Dortmund (58 points), and Eintracht Frankfurt (57 points).

Frankfurt are fifth right now but have perhaps the friendliest schedule, facing Schalke and Freiburg. Wolfsburg face RB Leipzig and in-form Mainz, while Dortmund also take on Mainz before playing Bayer Leverkusen.

Whoever misses out on the Champions League will finish in the Europa League spots. Fifth place can only change hands if Frankfurt lose both of their matches and Leverkusen win both of theirs.

Currently points clear of Borussia Mönchengladbach and Union Berlin, Leverkusen are extremely likely to finish sixth to seal a place in the Europa League play-off round.

Gladbach and Union, both on 46 points, will then hope to seal seventh and Europa Conference League spot but SC Freiburg (44 points) and VfB Stuttgart (42) also still in the running.

Relegation

  2. 17th – Relegated
  3. 18th – Relegated (Schalke will finish bottom and are already relegated)

As it stands

  1. 12th – Mainz – 36 points (-16 goal difference)
  2. 13th – Hertha – 34 points (-10)
  3. 14th – Augsburg – 33 points (-17)
  4. 15th – Bremen – 31 points (-17)
  5. 16th – Bielefeld – 31 points (-28)
  6. 17th – Köln – 29 points (-27)
  7. 18th – Schalke (R) – 13 points (-61)

Mainz cannot be relegated automatically but could still face a play-off if they lose both of their remaining matches.

This weekend sees two huge head-to-head fixtures at the bottom, with FC Augsburg hosting Werder Bremen and Köln visiting Hertha BSC.
