Two coaches sent off in bizarre Bologna-Inter incident | OneFootball

Two coaches were sent off as a result of a coming together on the touchline during the Easter Sunday match between Bologna and Inter at the Dall’Ara in Serie A, which leaves the Rossoblu without a head coach and Simone Inzaghi without his assistant for the next round of fixtures.

Two coaches sent off in Bologna-Inter incident

Bologna head coach Vincenzo Italiano and Inter assistant Massimiliano Ferris were both shown straight red cards during the second half of the Serie A match between Bologna and Inter on Sunday.

That means that Italiano will be suspended for Bologna’s upcoming Serie A match against Udinese next weekend, while Ferris will have to sit out of Inter’s visit from Roma in the 34th round of 2024-25 fixtures.

Ferris was in discussion with the fourth official halfway on the halfway point of the touchline, which drew a reaction from Italiano, who left his technical area pointing a finger towards the Nerazzurri assistant.

The pair came together, but even though there were no acts of violence, both were immediately sent off by referee Andrea Colombo.

According to initial reports from Corriere dello Sport, Ferris said something along the lines of “what the f*** do you want?” several times when he was approached by Italiano.

Both coaches appeared to shake hands as they made their way down the tunnel, indicating that they had made up shortly after the incident on the touchline.
