Two absentees for Real Madrid in training ahead of clash at Villarreal

Real Madrid will head into their clash away at Villarreal with two absentees and one player as a doubt if images from their most recent training session indicate correctly.

Aurélien Tchouaméni and David Alaba both missed training due to injury on Saturday morning, ruling them out of the tie on Sunday.

Another doubt to make the team travelling to Villarreal is Dani Carvajal, who received a foot injury against Alavés and was seen training with his foot bandaged up.

With the league already wrapped up, Carlo Ancelotti will likely look to field a rotated line-up for the match on Sunday evening, with youth players likely to gain a prized opportunity and Andriy Lunin getting a start over Thibaut Courtois.

Villarreal head into the match with a very slim chance of qualifying for the Europa Conference League, however, they would need to win their final two games and Real Betis would need to lose their final two games.

The focus for Real Madrid will be gaining experience for players outside the first-team picture, maintaining form ahead of the Champions League final, and keeping everyone fit.
