Twitter Beef: Official Dortmund Account Gets Into Twitter Fight With PSG Fan DJ Snake

In the lead up to the first leg of the UEFA Champions League tie between Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund, there was a heated spat on social media between the German club’s official Twitter account and one of PSG’s most recognizable supporters, DJ Snake.

For those needing a refresher on just how big of a PSG fan DJ Snake is, he has appeared in many videos for the capital club. Whether it’s a Champions League hype video or a FIFA 19 meetup with Neymar Jr., DJ Snake is one of the club’s biggest ambassadors and he does his part to help put the club on an international level.

After Dortmund tweeted out the quote of Lars Ricken about the club being able to produce superstars rather than buying them, which is an indirect shot at PSG, it led to DJ Snake responding with a tweet that read, “Who did you make tho?”

Now, instead of taking the high road or listing the players that the club has helped catapult to stardom, the official Dortmund Twitter account went the low road and went at DJ Snake for his music. Petty tweets like these are a hit among the football Twitter consortium.

Dortmund is clearly overmatched here. They’re a well-known, professional football club with an embarrassing follower count of just over 325K. DJ Snake boasts 1.6 million followers on Twitter and PSG’s official account tips the scale at just over 7.6 million followers.

The best part of the spat came when Dortmund posted the video below as an example of “good music.”

Um, isn’t that Liverpool FC’s song that you stole? If Dortmund needs an original tune, I would suggest they play Erling Haaland’s smash hit throughout the stadium. Is there anything this guy can’t do?

Ultimately, it’s up to PSG to perform well over the next two legs (February 18 and March 11) and show Dortmund that you need to buy and retain your superstars to compete for trophies like the Champions League instead of selling your best and cashing in. If manager Thomas Tuchel can get his team to play up to their ability, it will be DJ Snake who will have the last laugh.
