There are a couple of deals that the Robins could potentially wrap up before their clash at the MKM Stadium.

Bristol City need to ensure they have the strongest possible squad at their disposal ahead of their opening-day clash against Hull City.

The Robins may have spent much of their recent history in mid-table but they have the opportunity to progress under Liam Manning, who did a good job at Oxford United before making the switch to Ashton Gate.

Having lost some key players in recent windows, including Alex Scott and Antoine Semenyo, it will be interesting to see whether the board are willing to invest a sizeable amount of money in transfers this summer.

That seems unlikely, considering how careful they were with money during Nigel Pearson's tenure, but they could still secure some shrewd additions during the summer transfer window.

They haven't been afraid to explore overseas markets, with Fally Mayulu and Yu Hirakawa both coming in, but domestic signings can't be ruled out either.

Ahead of the opening day, we take a look at a couple of deals that the Robins may be able to secure in the coming weeks.

In: Scott Twine (Loan)

Scott Twine has been the subject of plenty of interest this summer, with the Robins, Sunderland, and League One outfit Birmingham City all being linked with a move for him.

According to The Sun, the attacking midfielder will be sold this summer, with Johann Berg Gudmundsson's decision to put pen to paper on a new contract potentially set to free the player to make a move elsewhere.

He could end up being a decent first-team asset for Burnley next season, but it looks as though the board have taken the decision to offload him and that could give the Robins an opportunity to secure his signature.

A loan move could suit Manning's side, with the 25-year-old likely to be an expensive signing.

A loan exit would also give the Clarets the opportunity to see whether it would be worth keeping him for the future, with the attacking midfielder showing plenty of promise during his career.

Under Manning, he was nothing short of outstanding at MK Dons and this is a key reason why the Robins' boss may potentially push hard to secure his signature.

Last term, he did fairly well at both Hull and Ashton Gate - and the Robins' fans may be keen to see more of him in 2024/25.

Getting a deal over the line probably won't be easy, but he's a player worth pursuing throughout the summer window. His connection with Manning could aid City.

Out: Harry Cornick

It will be interesting to see what happens with Harry Cornick, who may not be in huge demand should City look to move him on.

Doing exceptionally well at Luton Town in the past, he will be extremely disappointed not to have made more of an impact at Ashton Gate.

And with the player not having the desired effect in the South West, the club may be keen to offload him, although that could depend on whether Tommy Conway remains at the club or not.
