The best and funniest football-related tweets of the week, featuring N’Golo Kante’s heat map, Raheem Sterling’s tribute to the moon landing and Mesut Ozil’s attempt to be more like Megan Rapinoe.

Ah, pre-season. When trophies are handed out, but the football is meaningless. When everyone gets way over-excited about a new signing scoring a hat-trick against some non-league outfit. Or have a meltdown about losing to some second-rate Indonesian side.

It’s the bit you have to go through before getting to the real thing, a bit like mock exams. They’re a necessary evil to prepare for the real challenge ahead, but feel so unnecessary and pointless at the same time.

In the meantime, we still have Arsenal and Manchester United fans on Twitter to keep us entertained as they glumly look ahead to the new campaign.

This weeks Football Twitter round-up is brought to you in association with our friends at Carling, who’ve just launched a superb new inter lockable glass that allows you to carry four pints easily. Now if that’s not an innovation we can all get behind, we don’t know what is!

Who knew Sterling was such a fan of the moon landing?

The Manchester City attacker sent his spot kick against Wolves into space during a penalty shootout for the Premier League Asia Trophy this week.

Looking at this is giving me a headache yet I can’t look away.

Don’t get in Zlatan’s way.

No, literally, do not get in his way, or there will be consequences.

The Champions League is BACK, baby.

Sounds as annoying as it looks.

Pretty sure the defender dislocated his entire self trying to win the ball here:

Oh, mate…

That wasn’t even the biggest jersey gaffe this week.

Newcastle United’s former manager is getting on well in his new job, though.

Is it just me or does Mesut Özil now look like he should be a James Bond villain?

Megan Rapinoe: footballer, world champion, class act.

Another classy operator:

This is the crossover we need, not the one we deserve.

You have to say, the Arsenal content has been top notch this week.

If you haven’t heard Berba analyse his own goals, you need to follow him on Instagram ASAP.

Hands down, the best football photo of the week:
