Tuttosport: ‘Not managing to repeat’ – Loftus-Cheek and Milan ‘at a crossroads’

Ruben Loftus-Cheek’s career has been plagued with injuries, but when he is fully fit, he is an incredible asset to his team. Unfortunately, this hasn’t been seen enough.

The case of Loftus-Cheek is a saddening one. When he is fit, the Englishman can change games single-handedly, and given the uniqueness of his profile, replacing a fully fit version of him is so difficult. It also would cost far more than the Rossoneri would probably like.

On the face of it, things are quite simple. Milan have an unbelievably gifted player on a physical and technical level. However, despite his physical abilities, it is also the area which lets him down.

This season alone, he has missed 22 games for the Diavolo, a staggering number of games, but not an anomaly unfortunately.

So, Milan are ‘at a crossroads’ as Tuttosport (via Milan News) writes. Put simply by Sergio Conceicao, the ‘monstrous’ Englishman has never been available to him, and despite scoring 10 goals last season, he has simply been unable to repeat last season. However, this ‘not managing to repeat’ situation could also reference his injury record, where he only missed 10 games.

Yes, he can be an asset to Conceicao and the club, but with the issues of reliability there needs to be a decision made about his place moving forward and perhaps, we are moving towards a ‘gradual farewell’ as the report suggests.
