AC Milan are likely to invest in a new centre-forward next summer and one candidate seems to stand out above all, according to a report.

According to this morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews), Rossoneri management think Armando Broja of Chelsea is the profile that would marry perfectly with the club’s project, as they always looking for talents with great potential.

Broja is a young striker (22) but stands at 1.90m tall and 90kg in weight, so he certainly has power. His physicality is combined quality and good international experience, given he is the jewel of the Albanian national team.

He also played on loan in Holland, at Vitesse, where he began to make a name for himself. Last year, he got a taste of playing regularly in the Premier League where he was at Southampton on loan from the Blues, and he scored 9 goals in 38 games and thus earning their trust for the current season.

However, Broja is finding little playing time this year with 18 appearances but only 3 as a starter, scoring one goal against Wolverhampton. Havertz, Aubameyang and Sterling among others are closing the doors at the moment, who is playing a supporting role and his development might well be suffering.

In fact, the president of the Albanian football federation, Armand Duka, declared recently: “It was better when he was at Southampton and he always played as a starter: now he plays 15-20 minutes every game and it’s not the same.”

Milan could certainly offer him a more central role within the project even if the terms of the operation need to be looked at carefully, as Broja’s contract runs until 2025 and he is valued at €35m, so a loan deal could be possible.

Milan can rely on the endorsement of Duka, too: “Future in Italy? I’m interested in games. Even better if he played for Milan, because I’m a bit of a Milan fan.”
