AC Milan began their winter friendly campaign yesterday at Milanello and now their preparation for the start of the second part of the season will begin ramping up.

As Tuttosport (via MilanNews) reports this morning, Stefano Pioli will be able to welcome back some of the players who left for the World Cup in Qatar, while Theo Hernandez, Olivier Giroud and Rafael Leao continue to fight for the trophy.

On the 13th Charles De Ketelaere will rejoin the group after Belgium exited in the group stage, Simon Kjaer’s Denmark did not pass the group stage either and the Dane will be back on the 15th, and finally Sergino Dest will be the last to rejoin the group after the United States were beaten in the round of 16 by the Netherlands after having had a good World Cup.

Only in the friendly match against PSV Eindhoven on 30 December will he be able to rely on the more or less full squad, minus those who are still recovering from their various ailments.

Milan will play two friendlies while they are out in Dubai: on the 13th against Arsenal and on the 16th against Liverpool. The squads won’t be complete and Pioli won’t have many of his starters, but these kinds of games can help get in shape and flush out some issues.
