Tuttosport: Ibrahimovic to follow Zidane’s lead and star in ‘Asterix and Obelix’ movie | OneFootball

There continues to be a lot of speculation regarding what Zlatan Ibrahimovic will do once he has retired as a player, and he seems to be keeping open the idea of still being on our screens.

According to Tuttosport (via PianetaMilan) this morning, Ibrahimovic will play a centurion – Antivirus – in the film ‘Asterix and Obelix – The Middle Empire’ which will be released in cinemas on 1 February 2023.

Ibrahimovic will therefore take on the role of a general of the Roman army in the service of Julius Caesar, and he stars alongside many important actors such as Guillaume Canet (also director of the film) and Gilles Lellouche.

Marion Cotillard will be Cleopatra while Vincent Cassel will play the role of Julius Caesar. Ibrahimovic is not the first sportsman to make an appearance in an Asterix and Obelix film as Michael Schumacher, Zinedine Zidane, Tony Parker and Amélie Mauresmo participated in the film ‘Asterix at the Olympics’ which came out back in 2008.
