AC Milan are ready to let Lorenzo Colombo leave on loan with an option to buy but they will not completely lose control of him, a report claims.

As reported by Tuttosport (via SempreMilan.it), Milan are ready to let Colombo go to Lecce after he returned from a loan spell with SPAL last season in Serie B which started well but then was not as positive in the second half of the season.

There is talk of a loan with option to buy in favour of Lecce, who have just been promoted to Serie A, and their sporting director Pantaleo Corvino is a great admirer of the Primavera product.

However, the newspaper also states that Milan are planning on protecting themselves with the possibility of inserting a buy-back that would allow Maldini and Massara – if they deem it appropriate – to bring Colombo back to the Rossoneri in the future.

They could do so by paying an amount marginally higher than the option to buy, thus ensuring Lecce get a development fee of sorts.
