Sunderland are interested in Olympique Lyonnais forward Georges Mikautadze (24), however, they aren’t the only club in the race, as Foot Mercato have revealed.

Whilst there will not be a fire sale at Lyon following the DNCG’s confirmation of the club’s relegation to Ligue 2, pending appeal, sales are seen as a necessity, regardless. Be it in Ligue 1 or in Ligue 2, there will be a new period of austerity under new president Michelle Kang.

Lyon set €20m price tag for Mikautadze?

Mikautadze is one of the most sought-after players in this OL squad. Recently promoted Sunderland are interested in the Georgia international, as are AS Roma. However, Foot Mercato understands that two Turkish clubs, Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe, are desperate to sign the striker. Their interest is very strong, whilst clubs from Saudi Arabia are also in the race.

As per La Gazzetta dello Sport, OL want €20m for the player, who was brought in from FC Metz last summer for a fee of €18.5m.
