Inter have now made an official offer to Atalanta to sign defender Merih Demiral.

This according to Turkish journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu, who reported in a tweet that the Nerazzurri have already made a formal offer to La Dea for the 24-year-old who has been reported as a possible target to replace Skriniar, although the journalist does not detail the terms of the offer.

Demiral’s name has emerged recently as a possible replacement for Skriniar should the Slovakian leave Inter before the end of the January transfer window.

It is not yet certain whether the Nerazzurri will decide to accept an offer from Paris Saint-Germain for Skriniar or keep him until the end of the season, but in the event that the 27-year-old is to be on his way then there is no doubt that a replacement will be sought.

Demiral had already been linked as a possible target during the summer transfer window when Skriniar had also been linked with PSG.

Sabuncuoglu has provided further confirmation now just that Inter’s interest in Demiral this month is real, but that they have already made an offer.

“Inter have made an official offer to Atalanta for Merih Demiral,” the journalist tweeted.
