Turkey hire Vincenzo Montella as new head coach

Turkey have appointed Serie A legend Vincenzo Montella as their new head coach.

The Italian will take charge of the Crescent-Stars after Stefan Kuntz’s departure as they aim to secure qualification for Euro 2024.

Montella most recently managed Turkish side Adana Demirspor, leading them to a ninth and fourth place finish respectively across two seasons.

The 49-year-old also had managerial stints at Sevilla, Milan, Sampdoria and Fiorentina.

Turkey currently sit second place in EURO Qualifying Group D with five games remaining.
