Inter are entering the most intense phase of their season, and squad rotation has become vital to keep the team fresh for the massively important matches on the way in several different competitions.

Accordingly, Inzaghi is set to make some changes in every area of the pitch for this weekend’s match against Empoli.

In midfielder Marcelo Brozovic is anticipated to drop out of the starting lineup, whilst Hakan Calhanoglu will replace him at the base of a trio also containing Nicolo Barella and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

The Turkish international will be making his first start since returning from a thigh injury sustained during the international break, having previously made substitute appearances against Monza last Saturday and then against Benfica in the Champions League.

Meanwhile, in attack Inzaghi will once again completely overhaul the forward pairing between Champions League and league matches.

As was the case against Monza last weekend, both Lukaku and Correa will come in for Lautaro Martinez and Edin Dzeko for the Nerazzurri’s trip to Tuscany, the Gazzetta predicts.

Danilo D’ambrosio is predicted to start on the right side of an all-Italian back three alongside Francesco Acerbi and Alessandro Bastoni.

On the left flank, meanwhile, Federico Dimarco is set to drop out of the starting eleven, with Robin Gosens playing from the start.

The Gazzetta’s complete predicted Inter starting eleven for Sunday’s match is as follows:

Inter (3-5-2): Onana; D’Ambrosio, Acerbi, Bastoni; Dumfries, Barella, Calhanoglu, Mkhitaryan, Gosens; Lukaku, Correa.
