ESTAC Troyes have announced the precautionary suspension of their head coach David Guion one week before the start of the Ligue 2 campaign. His future at the club remains unclear, but if he were to be sacked, he would be the fourth manager to be fired since December 2021.
Guion only joined midway through the last season replacing Patrick Kisnorbo. However, ultimately the former FC Girondins de Bordeaux and Stade de Reims man had not done enough to steer the club away from relegation to the third division at the end of the last campaign.
It appears likely that Guion will not be provided another chance to take the helm of the sister club of Manchester City and Girona FC after his suspension, with L’Équipe writing that a candidate from the City Football Group could be an option as his successor.
