ESTAC Troyes are set to appoint former EA Guingamp head coach Stéphane Dumont in the next few hours as their next manager according to a report by Le Parisien journalist Marc Mechenoua.

Last week, Troyes had announced a precautionary suspension of their current head coach David Guion. It had appeared highly likely that Guion would not manage Troyes again following the suspension.

The manager had only been appointed in December to the role following the firing of Patrick Kisnorbo. However, he was unable to dramatically improve results and the club were relegated from Ligue 2 to Championnat National.

Dumont to take over the City Football Group club

Following FC Girondins de Bordeaux’s administrative relegation, Troyes were given a lifeline and maintained their position in Ligue 2 for another season. Guion would not be provided the same blessing and it now appears imminent that his time at Les Champenois will officially come to an end.
