Troy Deeney has picked his best 12 performers from the weekend’s action.
The Premier League team of the week (and manager) that have most impressed him.
Included in his dozen choices are two from Newcastle United.
This NUFC duo playing key roles in the excellent win over Leicester City.
Troy Deeney explains why he has picked out Jacob Murphy and Alexander Isak for his Premier League team of the week and then the full eleven (twelve) are listed below:
Jacob Murphy (Newcastle United):
“If I’m being totally honest, I never thought I’d do a Team of the Week where we’d be talking about Jacob Murphy.
“That’s probably the best compliment I can give him, he’s playing that well I have to put him in.
“Two goals at the weekend, excellent performance.”
Alexander Isak (Newcastle United):
“The best striker in the Premier League at this moment in time.
“Yes I’ve said it and yes I stand by it.
“He’s the complete striker. Unreal.
“Every time I watch him I keep thinking, how haven’t Arsenal signed him?
“He’s a really good player and finisher.
“He’s a poacher but he’s also such a silky player. You don’t see many silky poachers.”
Troy Deeney Premier League team of the week:
Jordan Pickford (Everton)
Djed Spence (Tottenham)
Nikola Milenkovic (Nottingham Forest)
Archie Gray (Tottenham)
Marc Cucurella (Chelsea)
Pape Matar Sarr (Tottenham)
Manuel Ugarte (Man U)
Amad Diallo (Man U)
Ismaila Sarr (Crystal Palace)
Jacob Murphy (Newcastle)
Alexander Isak (Newcastle)
Manager:
Ruben Amorim (Man U)
Great to see Newcastle United players getting recognition but anybody who was inside St James’ Park on Saturday, knows that along with Alexander Isak, Lewis Hall was easily one of the best two players on the pitch, outstanding.
