Arsenal appear to be willing to sell Francis Coquelin this month as they plan to overhaul an underperforming squad.

The French midfielder was first choice at the Emirates Stadium just 18 months ago and signed a new contract this time last year but is now up for sale.

Having played just 157 minutes in the Premier League all season, the Gunners are listening to offers for the 26-year-old.

On Monday afternoon, the Mirror broke the news that West Ham were interested in Coquelin, who was left out of Arsenal’s squad for Sunday’s 4-2 defeat to Nottingham Forest.

The same newspaper say Crystal Palace are also interested in the midfielder.

Interestingly, reports are coming out of Spain suggesting Valencia are also in the hunt.

Back in the summer, the LaLiga side showed an interest in Coquelin but could not strike a deal.

Now they are said to be back in talks.

Coquelin aside, Arsenal have just four available senior central midfielders at the club, including the oft-injured pair of Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey. Any sale would surely see the Gunners move for a replacement before the January window closes.

Update: According to a new version of the Mirror‘s report, Valencia have made a £12m bid for Coquelin.
