Liverpool made it three league wins in a row on Saturday afternoon as they finally got back to winning ways at Anfield in the Premier League against Aston Villa.

It was a tough afternoon’s work for the Reds as they had to overcome a very tight VAR call and a one-goal deficit but they turned it around and showed all the spirit and fight that we have come accustomed to seeing in recent years.

Another thing we’ve become used to, too, is the sheer quality Trent Alexander-Arnold has in that right boot of his and we again got another example of that as he struck a peach into the Kop end goal to give the Reds all three points late on.

Indeed, it was another good performance in the league to build on last weekend’s against Arsenal and the right-back’s stats from the clash make for positive reading:

He looks a player determined to show his quality at the moment and that can only be a good thing for us.

Gareth Southgate obviously sent him a message by leaving him out of England contention last month and, so far, the right-back is responding in the best manner possible.
