Throughout his Liverpool career, Trent Alexander-Arnold has faced an array of world class talents, ranging from arguably the best of the best in Lionel Messi, to stars such as Marcus Rashford and Leroy Sane.

However, instead of listing the aforementioned names, the full-back named Eden Hazard as his toughest opponent in a recent interview with Amazon, saying: “Hazard, maybe De Bruyne, but directly against an opponent – Eden Hazard. Speed, agility, mentality, intelligence on and off the ball.”

It comes as no surprise that Hazard has been named considering the difficult time he often gave Liverpool during his time at Chelsea. Of course, since the Belgian’s move to Real Madrid, he has struggled to make a significant impact, but not many will forget just how good a player he was when in England.

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

It would be interesting to see just how much of an impact Eden Hazard could make against Trent Alexander-Arnold if the two squared off now. Whilst Hazard has regressed, the Liverpool man has gone up another level or two since 2019.

If the former Chelsea man can stay fit, and  both Liverpool and Real Madrid make it to the knockout stages of the Champions League, then the two may just square off in a repeat of last season’s clash.

Compared to last season, Jurgen Klopp has a stronger squad at his disposal, with the likes of Virgil van Dijk back in action, and have looked more ruthless, dominant and in the mood for silverware.
