The young Senegalese talent Mikayil Faye is expected to leave Stade Rennais in the coming hours.

Having arrived last summer at Rennes, center-back Mikayil Faye was tipped for a bright future in Ligue 1. After working through his adaptation last season, his coach Habib Beye seemed ready to count on him for the new campaign. However, following a delay, he was left out by his coach for the opening matchday of Ligue 1.

Within the club, the decision appears to have already been made. It seems Faye will no longer wear the Stade Rennais colors. According to Sky Italia, Cremonese, who just secured the signings of Faris Moumbagna and Jamie Vardy, are on the verge of landing the Senegalese international. Negotiations are in advanced stages for a loan deal with an option to buy, with only minor details left to iron out.
