Marcel Tisserand joins Sydney FC on a two-year deal

Marcel Tisserand is heading Down Under to continue his football journey. The Congolese center-back has signed with Sydney FC for the next two seasons.
Released by Al-Ettifaq, where he had played since January 2024 and following loan spells at Abha and Al-Khaleej, the 32-year-old is leaving Saudi Arabia behind. He is ready to take on a new challenge in Australia's A-League.The Leopard (36 caps) expressed his delight on his official X account: “I am very happy to join Sydney FC, a club with great ambition and a winning mentality,” he said.He added: “Proud to become a Sky Blue. Ready to take on this new challenge for the next two seasons, then to begin my transition within the club. I can’t wait to meet the team, the fans, and play at Allianz Stadium. A well-structured club and an ambitious project with a shared vision for the future.”The Meaux native brings with him a wealth of experience, having previously worn the colors of Monaco, Lens, and Toulouse in France, FC Ingolstadt and VfL Wolfsburg in Germany, Fenerbahçe in Turkey, as well as Saudi sides Al-Ettifaq, Abha, and Al-Khaleej.
