Manchester City are apparently intensifying their interest in signing Bayern star Jamal Musiala. In Munich, however, they don’t want to know anything about it. The German record champions have long-term plans for their jewel and are looking to extend his contract. One thing is certain: a transfer in the summer is definitely out of the question.

In recent weeks and months, there has been a lot of speculation about Jamal Musiala’s sporting future. The entire European football elite is said to be keeping an eye on the DFB youngster, with the top English clubs in particular considered potential suitors. Most recently, reports made the rounds that Manchester City had chosen Musiala as their number one transfer target and were prepared to offer 140 million euros for the dribbler.

Bayern don’t even want to listen to offers

Sky reporter Florian Plettenberg has now also confirmed the reports that practically all of Europe’s top clubs are interested in signing Musiala – including Manchester City.

However, regardless of the amount of the transfer fee on offer, FC Bayern are not prepared to negotiate the super talent’s departure. Accordingly, a sale next summer has been categorically ruled out. Sports director Max Eberl does not even want to listen to any offers for the 21-year-old – the entire Munich management team is in agreement on this.

Musiala is set to become the new face of FC Bayern

In fact, the FC Bayern bosses are still planning to extend the international’s contract as quickly as possible. According to information from Fabrizio Romano, concrete negotiations with the player’s side are due to begin in the summer at the latest. Musiala is to be offered a significant salary increase. With a rumoured salary of five to seven million euros, Musiala is currently one of the „low earners“ in the Munich squad.

In addition to the financial aspects, the decision on the coaching issue will logically also play a decisive role. Overall, Musiala is said to place particular importance on sporting prospects. Accordingly, he wants to ensure that he can regularly compete for the Champions League title with his club in the future. Reaching the semi-finals of this year’s Champions League season should therefore also have a positive impact on negotiations with Musiala.
