Chelsea star Olivier Giroud would be open to Juventus transfer

According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud would consider a transfer to Juventus is he is offered a contract till 2022.

The veteran striker has been mighty impressive this season despite having begun the campaign behind Timo Werner and Tammy Abraham in the pecking order under Frank Lampard.

However, Giroud has made the most of whatever opportunities that have come his way, forcing his way back into the manager’s plans. Till date, the 34-year-old has netted nine goals in 16 games in all competitions in 2020/21.

The Frenchman, however, hinted recently that he would want to see the season through at the Bridge before taking a call on his future.

“We will see what happens in the next few months but I just want to keep my efficiency high. I really want the best for this team and I really believe we have a big opportunity to win something at Chelsea with this great squad.”

However, according to Di Marzio, despite his statements, Giroud would be open to leaving Chelsea this month if Juventus were to offer him a contract till the summer of 2022.
