Transfer News: Tottenham can offer Tanguy Ndombele in swap deal for Anthony Martial

According to Express, Tottenham Hotspur could offer Tanguy Ndombele in a swap deal for Anthony Martial. Manchester United and Spurs are keen on each other’s Frenchmen and a swap deal could help all four parties involved.

Over the summer, Spurs were apparently after a new striker. Fabio Paratici was looking into potential options and one of them was the 25-year-old Martial. United were asked about the player but they refused to sell at that time. However, they are believed to have changed their stance and could now consider an offer of £40m for the out of form striker.

Martial is a target for Spurs

Cut to the other side of this and we have Manchester United keen on Ndombele. The midfielder had grown frustrated over the summer and it looked as if an exit could be on the cards. Regardless, the midfielder has admirers at Old Trafford and they are monitoring the Frenchman as a potential option to replace Paul Pogba should he depart.

Now, Spurs can make this easier and the report suggests that they could consider the prospect of a swap deal that will get them Martial in exchange for Ndombele. Swap deals are not that common these days but it would be an interesting prospect at a time when finances are tight across Europe. As mentioned above Martial’s valuation is not quite on the cheaper side.

In any way, this could be a rather complex deal in the sense that both players are rather inconsistent and the clubs could have second thoughts. Add to that, Spurs are not really known to do business with Premier League rivals. This could be a prospect that could stew for a while before working out or not.
