Transfer News: PSG Reportedly Eyes Swoop of Another Inter Milan Defender

Paris Saint-Germain likely has to dive into the center-back market this summer to land a left-footed defender. Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte is reportedly in the mix to fill the need, but so is Inter Milan center-back Alessandro Bastoni.

Milan Škriniar is coming, but the Slovakian international is a right-foot player, so he wouldn’t fill the void. Although Presnel Kimpember is on the squad still, he suffered an Achilles injury that will keep him out to start the 2023-24 season.

FC Inter News reported on Friday that the Ligue 1 side is interested in Bastoni’s situation since the 24-year-old defender’s contract expires in 2024. So it is no surprise that the Parisians are in on the Italian international as it makes economic sense.

PSG has already taken Škriniar away from the Serie A side on a free transfer, so if Inter Milan cannot extend Bastoni, they might have to listen in on offers for the player rather than not receiving compensation for him.

Transfermarkt has the defender’s value at €55 million, but expect that to drop considering the Inter Milan man only has one year on his contract after this 2022-23 season.
