Brighton seeking £50million for Manchester United target Yves Bissouma

According to Give Me Sport (h/t Manchester Evening News), journalist Tom Barclay has revealed that Brighton and Hove Albion are seeking £50million for Manchester United target Yves Bissouma.

The 25-year-old Mali international is one of the best young midfielders in the league and has proven invaluable for the Seagulls under Graham Potter. He has been at the forefront of Brighton’s good start to the season this time around.

United are keen to address their ‘problem’ in the defensive midfield position and failed in an attempt to land West Ham United star Declan Rice earlier in the summer. In Bissouma, they have a cheaper alternative.

The 25-year-old’s performances have caught the attention of United and Liverpool. Excellent in possession and capable of breaking up attacks, Bissouma would be a dynamic addition to the Red Devils midfield.

His ability on the ball is an upgrade over both Fred and Scott McTominay. Given the experience he has in the Premier League, Bissouma will have no trouble adjusting to life at Old Trafford.

The player, for his part, appears to have confidence in his abilities and has labelled himself the best in the league. There is no reason why he cannot get there if he keeps up his performance levels.

Liverpool are also interested in Yves Bissouma.

In a recent interview, Bissouma hinted that his future could lie away from the Amex Stadium. The 25-year-old is keen to experience Champions League football. Brighton, for their part, are not a side that can get him what he craves. United can and it remains to be seen if he will move to the Theatre of Dreams in the future.

Bissouma is a very good player who can do a job for United in midfield. His solidity will not just give our attackers the freedom to stay forward but also allow our full-backs to bomb upfield to support them.

Signing the Mali star opens up a world of opportunities for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to exploit. Whether we will go back for Rice or instead settle for Bissouma remains to be seen.
