Fabio Paratrici keen to bring Dejan Kulusevski to Tottenham Hotspur in January

According to the Mirror, Tottenham Hotspur’s new managing director of football, Fabio Paratici is keen to bring Juventus winger Dejan Kulusevski to the club in the January transfer window.

Paratici has a high opinion of the Swedish star and was the one who signed him for Juventus. The 21-year-old appears to have made enough of an impression for the Spurs honcho to seek a reunion, this time in North London.

Kulusevski enjoyed regular playtime last season, making 47 appearances for the Turin giants. He has, however, had to take a step back under Massimiliano Allegri this time out and has started just once so far. He has played for 168 minutes so far, largely coming off the bench.

According to the report, Tottenham scouts were in attendance for Juventus’s UEFA Champions League opener against Molde. They would however have left disappointed, given that the Swede only played for seven minutes.

At 21, Kulusevski has the best years of his career ahead of him and can become a leading attacker for years to come. Paratici has an intimate understanding of Serie A let alone a player he has worked with before.

Spurs, for all their attackers, are overly dependent on Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min for inspiration. Bringing in another player to share the burden will give Nuno Espirito Santo a new avenue going forward.

With his contract not expiring until 2025, the Old Lady would hold all the cards in any potential negotiations.  Juventus have not had a good start to the season and have found life in the post-Cristiano Ronaldo era difficult. Whether they are willing to part ways with another winger or have him develop into a key player for the future remains to be seen.
