Manchester United trying to orchestrate deal for Barcelona wonderkid Gavi

According to El Nacional (h/t ESPN), Manchester United are keeping an eye on Barcelona star Gavi as they look to strengthen their frontline.

The Red Devils had one of the best summer transfer windows in world football this summer as they added big names to their squad. Long term target Jadon Sancho was roped in from Borussia Dortmund, while 4-time Champions League winner Raphael Varane was signed from Real Madrid.

The bonus signing was that of Cristiano Ronaldo, who is turning out to be the crucial one. Regardless, the frontline was tended to well this summer even though the Old Trafford outfit already possessed the likes of Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, Jesse Lingard, Edinson Cavani, and Mason Greenwood.

However, the Manchester-based club are not planning on stopping here. The club have already identified the next man to be added to their frontline. United are weighing up a move for Barcelona sensation Gavi, after his good start to the season with the Nou Camp outfit.

Originally a Real Betis product, the Spaniard joined the Blaugrana back in 2015. Since then, he has made his way through the ranks of the club and joined up with the senior team this season.

Besides United, Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool are also eyeing a move for the winger, according to El Nacional (h/t ESPN). However, if Ole Gunnar Solskjaer & co. want to jump ahead of the other suitors, they will have to do so quickly.

This is because the 17-year-old’s current contract at Barcelona contains a release clause worth €50m. Joan Laporta and the rest of the team are trying to renegotiate terms with the youngster and get him to sign a new deal which will apparently have a release clause worth €500m.

Thus, the Red Devils will have to hurry if they hope to get a deal over the line for Gavi and sort out their frontline for many years to come, given the age and talent of the Spanish international.
