Norwich City and Leicester City join Manchester United in the race to sign Aberdeen star Calvin Ramsay

According to The Sun, Norwich City & Leicester City have joined Manchester United in the race to sign Aberdeen talent Calvin Ramsay ahead of the January transfer window.

The 18-year-old has picked up a lot of plaudits for his role in the right-back slot this season as he has already garnered 7 assists in 15 appearances for the Scottish outfit.

Ramsay was promoted to the senior team last season and made a single appearance during that period. However, he has been entrusted a lot more this season as he also featured in nearly all of the club’s UEFA Europa Conference League qualifying games.

The full-back, who can also deputize in the midfield line, is on the radar of Manchester United ahead of the winter transfer window. The Red Devils were keen on providing some back-up to Aaron wan-Bissaka in the full-back role and also tried to sign Kieran Trippier from Atletico Madrid, but failed in their effort of doing so.

Diogo Dalot is currently the second-choice right-back option, but that could soon change if Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and co intensify their efforts to sign Ramsay.

United to face competition to sign Ramsay?

However, they will now face competition from Norwich and Leicester, as both clubs look to add the youngster to their ranks. Everton are also keen on a deal, but a sale depends upon Aberdeen’s willingness to sell.

The Dons are currently languishing in the ninth position in the league and are said to be reluctant to let the 18-year-old leave the club.

Thus, the Old Trafford outfit will not only have to beat out the competition but also put forth an enticing offer that will convince the Scottish outfit to let go of their prized asset.
