Done deal! West Ham announce Kalvin Phillips loan

Kalvin Phillips has joined West Ham on loan until the end of the season, bringing an end to the midfielder’s Manchester City nightmare, writes Malik Ouzia.

The agreement will see the Hammers cover Phillips’s wages, believed to be around £140,000-per-week, for the remainder of the campaign.

It was initially expected that an option-to-buy in the summer would be included in the deal but that has been shelved after the clubs failed to agree terms, though a permanent transfer at the end of the loan has not been ruled out.

Man Utd get encouragement over Vinicius Jr chase

Manchester United may just have been boosted in their ambitious pursuit of Vinicius Jr.

News emerged from Spain last week that Man Utd were targeting the Brazilian superstar as a statement early signing under Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS, rumours that were quickly shot down due to the mammoth asking price involved.

However, the Daily Mirror now report that Kylian Mbappe's expected summer switch from Paris Saint-Germain to the Bernabeu could yet lead to an exit for Vinicius.

West Ham set to announce Kalvin Phillips arrival

West Ham are expected to officially confirm the arrival of Kalvin Phillips this morning.

The England midfielder is believed to have undergone a medical in east London yesterday ahead of completing his loan switch from Manchester City.

Phillips will spend the rest of the season at West Ham, though it seems that reports of a £40m buy option may be wide of the mark.

According to Sky Sports, the final deal will actually just be a straight loan with the two clubs apparently unable to agree on the option.

Tottenham closing in on Antonio Nusa transfer

Tottenham are continuing talks over a deal for Antonio Nusa, reports suggest.

Spurs have been pressing to make Club Brugge's Norwegian sensation their third January arrival after the early window signings of Timo Werner and Radu Dragusin.

The two clubs have been locked in talks for some time, with Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri reporting that negotiations are now progressing well.

The next few days are said to be crucial, with Nusa keen to join Tottenham and Club Brugge said to be looking to reach the same €36m price point that AC Milan paid them for Charles De Ketelaere in the summer of 2022.

It is thought that the 18-year-old will join Spurs at the end of the season after spending the remainder of the campaign at Brugge.

Chelsea handed boost in Karim Benzema battle

Is the path now clear for Chelsea to try and sign Karim Benzema?

A rumoured loan move to the Premier League remains the hot topic of conversation around the 2022 Ballon d'Or winner, who is rumoured to have asked to be allowed to leave Al-Ittihad temporarily after only six months in Saudi Arabia.

Chelsea are among the clubs to be mostly heavily linked with Benzema, along with top-flight rivals Arsenal and Manchester United.

However, the Daily Mail report that Man Utd and the Gunners have both now snubbed the chance to sign the Real Madrid legend, potentially leaving the door wide open for Chelsea to swoop unopposed.

Man Utd enter race to sign Ivan Toney

Manchester United look to have entered the race for Ivan Toney.

Arsenal and Chelsea have been most strongly linked with the prolific England striker, who last weekend made a goalscoring return for Brentford following his eight-month betting ban.

The Athletic claim that Man Utd are closely monitoring Toney's situation, possibly with a view to launching a huge move in the summer transfer window.
