Premier League clubs out to secure huge deals before deadline

OneFootball Videos

Arsenal look to have received a major boost over Ollie Watkins as they push for a massive striker deal before Monday’s transfer deadline. The Gunners have seen an opening bid snubbed by Aston Villa, but the England international is now said to be open to joining his boyhood club. Arsenal should learn soon if they have won the race for Sverre Nypan amid fresh links to Mateo Retegui.

Tottenham are rumoured to have agreed a £50million deal for Mathys Tel, though Manchester United are still hoping to hijack those talks as they also finalise the signing of Ayden Heaven. Patrick Dorgu should complete his move to Old Trafford this weekend, while they could yet sell Alejandro Garnacho to Chelsea, who have their eye on Gregor Kobel amid a reported enquiry for Brighton duo Carlos Baleba and Georginio Rutter.

Spurs have agreed to sign Manchester City youngster Daniel Batty, while Liverpool are still eyeing Rayan Cherki but could face strong competition. West Ham are busy in the final days of the window, with confidence over getting Evan Ferguson after a bid for Ricardo Pepi was rejected. Follow the latest transfer news, rumours and gossip below!

Mateo Retegui a 'serious contender' to join Arsenal

Could Mateo Retegui be a new name in the Arsenal striker frame along with Ollie Watkins?

A deal for Aston Villa’s England marksman is looking rather unlikely as things stand with Jhon Duran off to Saudi Arabia, though that could change as Arsenal weigh up a second bid and Unai Emery targets other forwards, potentially Joao Felix and Matheus Cunha.

According to AFTV, Italy international Retegui is a “very serious” contender to move to the Emirates Stadium ahead of Monday night’s transfer deadline, having starred for Atalanta in Serie A this season following a summer move form Genoa.

Celtic eye Malacia after Arsenal block early Tierney exit

It looks like Kieran Tierney won’t be leaving Arsenal quite yet.

Celtic are believed to have agreed a pre-contract for their former star to return to Glasgow on a free transfer when his current Gunners deal expires in the summer.

There were hopes that the reigning Scottish champions might be able to bring that move forward to January by taking Tierney on loan for the remainder of the season, but The Telegraph report that Arsenal have now blocked that possibility.

It is said that Celtic could look at Tyrell Malacia as a potential loan option now instead as Manchester United close in on the signing of Patrick Dorgu from Lecce.

Chelsea could sell Nkunku to help finance Garnacho deal

So how will Chelsea afford that rumoured bid for Alejandro Garnacho?

Chelsea look to be having a slight issue with offloading some of their unwanted players this month, with exits not quite yet agreed for the likes of Cesare Casadei.

According to TEAMtalk, the Blues could help finance a blockbuster move for Garnacho by offloading Christopher Nkunku.

Manchester United have held an interest in the Frenchman in this window and were said to have made a loan approach following rumours over a swap deal, but it seems now that Bayern Munich could revive their interest when they agree the exit of compatriot Mathys Tel.

The report also states that Chelsea remain interested in Garnacho’s Old Trafford team-mate Kobbie Mainoo ahead of Monday’s transfer deadline.

Chelsea and Manchester United look primed for a battle over Gregor Kobel.

Both Premier League giants could be on the lookout for new goalkeepers soon, with current respective No1s Robert Sanchez and Andre Onana both struggling with repeated errors.

Chelsea plot huge Alejandro Garnacho bid within hours

Chelsea are set to launch a late transfer swoop for Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho, reports claim.

The Blues are known to hold a strong interest in the Argentine forward, who could be allowed to leave Old Trafford before Monday’s deadline.

Serie A giants Napoli have been back in talks over Garnacho of late, though Chelsea look poised to make their move at long last.

According to French outlet L’Equipe, Chelsea plan to make an official bid for the 20-year-old in the coming hours though would have to pay around £80m to secure his signature - around £20m more than Napoli due to being a direct rival of United’s.

Arsenal set to learn Sverre Nypan transfer decision

Arsenal should find out very soon if they have won the race for Sverre Nypan.

The Gunners are believed to be in competition with Manchester City’s sister club Girona and Aston Villa for the signing of Rosenborg’s midfield wonderkid.

All three clubs are believed to have made their respective pitches to Nypan and his camp last weekend, with a decision now expected imminently.

According to GiveMeSport, Arsenal will learn by Sunday if they have been chosen by one of Europe’s highest-rated young players in what would be a huge transfer coup.

Man Utd want to hijack Tottenham deal for Mathys Tel

Along with Ollie Watkins, Mathys Tel remains the other big name in transfer dispatches as the deadline gets ever closer.

The teenage French forward has decided to leave Bayern Munich this month in search of more regular football and appears to have interest from multiple Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Tottenham and Aston Villa.

L’Equipe report that Spurs have won the race for Tel with a £50m agreement, though Sky Germany claim that, despite Tottenham’s progress, United remain active in the race and are considering a loan offer after holding fresh talks with the player’s agent.

Arsenal handed new Ollie Watkins boost

Arsenal look to have been handed a new boost in the race for Ollie Watkins.

The Gunners are pushing to sign a new striker in the final days of the January transfer window and saw an opening bid worth in the region of £60m rejected by Aston Villa on Wednesday.

But reports suggest that Arsenal are plotting a second approach for Watkins, who is a boyhood Arsenal fan and has previously spoken of his dream to play for the club.

Indeed, the Daily Mail now report that the former Brentford star is open to a late switch to the Emirates Stadium as Arsenal weigh up a new offer, but the chances of pulling off any deal are tough with Villa about to sell fellow striker Jhon Duran to Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia.
