Chelsea have accepted an initial £55m sum for the academy product, with £5m in add-ons.

Should all go to plan, Mount will put pen to paper on a five-year contract after failing to agree on a new deal with Chelsea.

Jurrien Timber set to join Arsenal

Arsenal are set to make Jurrien Timber their next summer signing.

A deal worth £40m has been agreed verbally between the Gunners and Ajax, £4m of which will be bonuses.

Talks are expected to be concluded over the weekend with both clubs keen to get the deal over the line, and Timber excited by the prospect of moving to Arsenal.

Chelsea aim to knock down Moises Caicedo price

Chelsea hope to get a £20m discount on Moises Caicedo.

WIth Brighton wanting a £100m fee for the midfielder, having rejected the Blues’ opening bid of £60m, there is hope that a deal can be struck in the middle of those two figures.

Once Mason Mount’s move to Manchester United goes through in the next few days, Chelsea are set to accelerate their attempt to sign Caicedo to bolster their midfield.

Man City on Declan Rice failure: ‘We don’t panic'

Manchester City CEO Ferran Soriano has revealed why the club ultimately pulled out of the race to sign Declan Rice.

Arsenal are due to sign the West Ham skipper for £105m, a fee which the City chief has suggested is not “intelligent”.

He said: "If you look at what we did at the start of this project, there was a need for a lot of changes and investment - but not anymore.

“If you look at what we have done in the last five years, our level of investment in new players is well thought out.

“We are not the top net-spenders of last year or the last three or five years. We have a platform where we know what to do and we can do it with time and intelligence.

“When we don't like a deal, we walk away and we don't panic.”

Chelsea told they’ll miss out on Victor Osimhen

Chelsea have been told to forget about signing Victor Osimhen.

Napoli legend Salvatore Bagni believes only two clubs in the world have the finances and prowess to sign the Nigerian striker, who is rated at £130m.

Bagni told Tutto Napoli: “Victor Osimhen won’t return to France because he already played there. The same thing with Germany

“He doesn’t go to Liverpool or Chelsea because they do not play the Champions League.

“Of all the teams associated with him, for me, he would only go to Manchester United and Real Madrid. He’s not interested in the other teams.”

Arsenal set for Declan Rice breakthrough

Arsenal are on the verge of agreeing a £105m deal with West Ham to sign Declan Rice.

Following yesterday’s reports that the transfer had been delayed by the Gunners apparently being less-than willing to compromise over the structure of the payments, a breakthrough is now close.

According to The Guardian’s Jacob Steinberg, West Ham want the guaranteed part of Rice’s fee to have been paid by the end of next year.

Chelsea deal collapses

Chelsea’s plan to sell Hakim Ziyech to Al-Nassr has fallen through.

Personal terms have not been agreed between the winger and the Saudi Arabian side, despite an £8m fee being set between the clubs.

Ziyech, who missed out on a loan move to PSG on January transfer deadline day, is still deemed surplus to requirements by Chelsea.

Andre Onana to Man Utd breakthrough

Manchester United are set for a breakthrough in talks over Andre Onana.

Inter Milan’s financial concerns have pushed them towards lowering their price tag for the goalkeeper, to just £43m.

That’s according to Gianluca Di Marzio, the Italian journalist saying that talks are set to continue between the clubs.

Inter have even lined up Chelsea target Anatoliy Trubin as Onana’s replacement, it is claimed.
