Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham and Manchester United are all still striving to complete some headline deals as we approach the finishing straight of the January transfer window. Arsenal have been rather quiet this month, but it is now said that they will rival Manchester United for the signing of Bayern Munich defender Matthijs de Ligt. Arsenal and Chelsea are both on alert over Karim Benzema, while the Gunners are also believed to be leading the race for Xavi Simons and Ander Barrenetxea.
Chelsea have learned how much they will have to pay to sign Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres, with wages potentially a stumbling block over Benzema. Tottenham have already sealed deals for Timo Werner and Radu Dragusin this month and are now reported to be in negotiations with Club Brugge over Antonio Nusa, while Ivan Perisic is heading back to Hajduk Split and Manchester City reportedly want Pedro Porro.
Manchester United continue to be linked with a blockbuster move for Vinicius Jr at Real Madrid as well as Benfica's Joao Neves, with Anthony Martial now rumoured to be training alone.
