A report tonight that one of our Japanese contingent, Yosuke Ideguchi may be on his way back to the J-League on an initial loan deal. The midfielder has failed to hit the heights of his fellow countryman after a bad injury halted his Celtic career straight away against Alloa Athletic last year.

David Friel, a former Celtic View writer and now working at  Scottish Sun has revealed that he is nearing a departure from Celtic Park this month, with a move to his hometown club, Avispa Fukuoka in the offing. It seems a dead certainty now that the move will go through shortly, allowing the player to reignite his stalling progress.

There had been a spate of interest in the 26-year-old Japanese cap when it was made known he would be available to transfer this winter. Former team Gamba Osaka have been on his trail, along with Nagoya Grampus but it now looks more and more likely that the midfielder will make an emotional return to the place where he grew up.

After only 13 months in the Scottish Premiership, the ex-Leeds United player will be hoping he can put this miserable spell behind him and rejuvenate in his homeland moving forward. The Hoops signed Ideguchi for very little so the blow is mitigated in that regard when he leaves.

We wish Yosuke all the best with his future in the game and hope he can find form again in Japan.
