Reports emerging from the United States claim that a Scottish club has already made multiple attempts to sign the forward, while Scottish Sun reckon that it’s Brendan Rodgers who is after the striker, as he currently is two short.
Rodgers has previously revealed that he wants to have three strikers at the club, two senior players and one development player and that could be the role he sees for Jacen Russell-Rowe.
Alternatively he’s a replacement for Adam Idah with Celtic deciding that no business can be done with Norwich on acceptable terms.
Canadian international Russell-Rowe is 21 years of age and has scored five goals so for this campaign for Columbus Crew.
American sports writer Tom Bogert reported:
Sources: Columbus Crew reject offers from Scottish club for Canadian forward Jacen Russell-Rowe. Offers below Crew’s valuation of the player. Player could play more abroad Russell-Rowe, 21, has 5g/1a in around 1,000 mins this season. Was part of Canada squad at Copa America.
And while it seems highly likely that the Scottish Sun is correct in naming Celtic as the Scottish club actively chasing the signature of Russell-Rowe, we can’t be certain. It does seem the most likely option though.
