Liel Abada is receiving admiring glances from various quarters as we head towards the end of the season and into the summer transfer window of 2023. The Israeli international has reportedly been unable to agree new terms with the club and that has put potential suitors on high alert as to his availability this close season.
There have already been murmurings of interest in the 21-year-old attacker from the English Premier League, with both Crystal Palace and relegation-threatened Southampton being the names most prominent in reports south of the border these days. It remains to be seen however, if Abada would wish to leave the Hoops for such a provincial footballing institution.

The latest name to appear in the news though is one that will certainly elicit interest and have both the player and club on their toes if the veracity of the report by Sky Sports are to be believed to be factual. For the news outlet have claimed that Champions League winners Ajax are reputedly in the frame for the elusive forward, should he wish to leave Parkhead for greener pastures.
The Amsterdam club of course, signed theRangers Nigerian centre-back, Calvin Bassey last year for around £20 million after a good showing in European competition during their run to Seville and the Europa League Final with Frankfurt. It’s a move that has saw them burn their fingers’ right enough, as Bassey has been slated in Holland now that they have found out his true level.

As with every rumour, it has to be taken with a pinch of salt, but it would make sense that Ajax would be looking at Liel Abada as he is within the price range and also fits the profile of player that they scout and sign. If he is to leave Celtic Park though, as we’ve said already on The Celtic Star, we should be getting the going rate for such a talent.
