Real Madrid star Aurélien Tchouaméni endured another evening to forget on Tuesday night.
This came en route to Real Madrid being put to the sword in alarming fashion, at the hands of Italian giants AC Milan.
Carlo Ancelotti’s troops marked their return to action a short time ago, turning focus back towards matters on the continent in a Champions League showdown with the aforementioned Milan.
This marked Los Blancos’ first outing since being dispatched of by four goals to nil at the hands of arch rivals Barcelona.
As alluded to above, though, when all was said and done on Tuesday, things only went from bad to worse for the Spanish champions.
Owing to strikes on the part of all of Malick Thiaw, Álvaro Morata, and Tijjani Reijnders, Real were downed by three goals to one.
And, amongst a whole host of underwhelming individual performances in Carlo Ancelotti’s squad, front and centre once more was the aforementioned Aurélien Tchouaméni.
Midfielder Tchouaméni finds himself in a difficult stretch of form of late, subjected to heavy criticism on the part of the Real Madrid faithful as a result.
In fact, murmurs have begun to mount in the Spanish media that the 24-year-old could even be sold next summer, having completely lost the faith of those behind the scenes at the Santiago Bernabéu.
Safe to say, then, that his latest showing will not at all have helped Tchouaméni’s case…
Afforded a start in the middle of the park against Milan, the former AS Monaco man struggled on both sides of the ball, with his misplaced pass having opened the door for the visitors to retake the lead late in the first-half.
Carlo Ancelotti, in turn opted to hook Tchouaméni at the interval on Wednesday, replaced by fellow countryman Eduardo Camavinga.
A swift bounce-back performance is very-much needed on the part of the Frenchman next time out…
