The football may be on (given that it’s the weekend and everything) but the transfer gossip never stops.

In fact, it’s only ramping up as we approach our favourite day of the year here at Onefootball: Transfer deadline day.

Here’s the best of Sunday’s speculation.

Real Talk ?

Arturo Vidal moves closer and closer to the exit door at Bayern. Bild say that the club are ready to sell the Chilean this summer and Manchester United are poised to move but they could face competition from Chelsea.

Jürgen Klopp seemed to suggest that Emre Can will run down his Liverpool contract and become a free agent in the summer, at which point he would likely join Juventus. Klopp was typically casual about the situation, calling it ‘not cool for the club’.

Marca and others report that Barcelona are closing in on a move for Grêmio’s Brazilian midfielder Arthur, which could possibly happen in the current window. Barça clearly feel they haven’t signed enough South Americans recently and are looking for more.

Fake News ?

Manchester United are on ‘red alert’, according to Marca, because Marc Bartra has been made available by Borussia Dortmund. United have signed a high-profile centre-back in each of the last two summers and a move for a pass-first, defend-second centre-back who can’t get into a relatively poor Dortmund team doesn’t exactly scream ‘José Mourinho’.

If the Daily Mail are to be believed, Real Madrid are readying a monster £500m Premier League spending spree, with Harry Kane, Eden Hazard and David de Gea all on the list. Alas, the Daily Mail are not to be believed.

It wouldn’t be a Fake News section without a contribution from Diario Gol, so here it is: The Spanish ‘outlet’ say that Karim Benzema has agreed personal terms with Arsenal. Yeah, okay.

Fantasy Football ?

The day after Pep Guardiola complained that his side can’t win the quadruple because they don’t have enough money (Fake news, anyone?), the Mirror have linked Manchester City with a £150m move for Hazard. We’re no experts in mathematics here at Onefootball but we’re pretty sure something there doesn’t add up.

What you missed yesterday ?

What is — or at least seems to be — real with Manchester City is a signing they made yesterday. In what is comfortably the most bizarre signing/announcement of the window so far, Umbro (Yes, the manufacturer) announced that  City have taken on MLS reject Mix Diskerud on a long-term contract. We honestly don’t even know where to start with this one.

Almost as wild: Genoa wonderkid Pietro Pellegri sealed a €25m move to Monaco. He’s 16 years old.

Finally, Rivaldo’s son — the brilliantly named Rivaldinho — completed his switch from Dinamo București to Levski Sofia.

Total spent so far: €560m
