Welcome to the weekend (almost at least). And to get you started, it is time for Friday’s edition of our transfer round-up.
In Jack Grealish updates, the Guardian among others report that Manchester City have apparently started negotiations with Aston Villa over their captain, for whom personal terms will not be an issue.
However, local media reports in Birmingham from the Express and Star state that should a move to City not materialise, he will be offered another new contract at his boyhood club.
Across the city, it is reported by the Telegraph that Atlético’s Kieran Trippier is prepared to wait until the final day of the window if that is what it takes to see his dream move to Manchester United materialise.
Speaking at an event in his hometown of Livorno, Juventus legend and current free agent Giorgio Chiellini admitted he expects to ink an extension at the Old Lady.
And he may not be the only upcoming arrival in Turin, with Sassuolo chief executive Giovanni Carnevali telling Sky that they can have Manuel Locatelli – if they stump up the cash.
“We’ll contact Juve directly tomorrow because he wants to go there,” he said. “We’d be happy to sell him there but they need to pay the right fee. There is another English club now in the race and Arsenal also made a bid for him.”
According to Goal, Sevilla have put an €80 million price tag on the head of defender and prized asset Jules Koundé, largely due to a 20% sell-on clause Bordeaux have in his contract.
Skyitalia are making the claim that Milan are ready to part with up to €5m net per season in wages for Real Madrid’s Isco, who is apparently on the market but both his own and the club’s financial demands are above what suitors are willing to pay.
And that same outlet are also suggesting that Barcelona have now joined the race for highly-regarded Atalanta defender Cristian Romero, despite local reports in Spain claiming that a deal simply is not financially feasible, with Tottenham in the driving seat.
That goes to the Le10Sport report which stated that Liverpool have shown an interest in Paul Pogba amid his contract uncertainty and he has been offered to them by agent Mino Raiola.
But that they are also unlikely to make a move for him until January. Hmmm, we don’t think so ….
Thursday was a quiet day for done deals, although West Ham did sign goalkeeper Alphonse Areola on loan from PSG.
