There’s a bit of a theme of players returning to their former clubs in this transfer gossip column, but perhaps the most bizarre rumour comes from The Star, who claim Everton are interested in re-signing former striker Nikola Vlaơić.

The Croatian international previously suffered a forgettable spell at Goodison Park before being shipped off to CSKA Moscow, but his excellent scoring form in Russia has reportedly prompted the Toffees to consider activating a buy-back clause they cunningly included in his departure deal.
