It’s Tuesday and two more leagues in Europe are set to get underway this week.
But before they do, here’s the latest transfer gossip.
Lionel Messi is desperate not to see Neymar join Real Madrid.
According to Marca, the Argentine has spoken with his close friend and ex-Barcelona team-mate to convince him not to move to the Bernabéu.
Both Real Madrid and Barcelona are linked with the Brazilian, with Paris Saint-Germain open to a sale.
Isco and James Rodríguez could leave Madrid with Neymar being linked, Gazzetta dello Sport report.
The Italian daily says either of the players may be targeted by Milan who, in turn, could sell goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma to PSG once a Neymar exit goes through.
Meanwhile at Inter, Ivan Perisic has all but completed a switch to Bayern Munich.
“He [Ivan Perisic] was at the medical check today,” Bayern head coach Niko Kovac confirmed on Monday.
“And if all this goes well and the last papers are sent back and forth [with Inter], then he will become one of our players.”
According to reports in Spain, Bayern Munich are interested in a two-year loan deal for Philippe Coutinho.
But reports in Germany, specifically SportBILD reporter Christian Falk, say that’s nonsense and the player has only been offered to the club.
Who’s telling the truth?
The race to compete with Paris-Saint Germain is on in France.
Lyon are closing in on a €20m deal to sign Angers midfielder Jeff Reine-Adélaïde to bolster their squad, L’Équipe claim.
They also say Monaco have triggered Wissam Ben Yedder‘s €40m release clause at Sevilla.
Could either club really have a say in the Ligue 1 title race?
Orel Mangala left Manchester City for Valencia.
Monaco paid a reported £12m to sign Henry Onyekuru from Everton.
