The Red Devils are on the lookout for a new centre-back this summer despite a new centre-forward being their top target with rumours Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof could leave this summer.

Erik ten Hag’s preferred centre-back pairing has been Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez when they’ve been fit this season and Maguire and Lindelof could leave in search of more game time.

And Napoli defender Kim seems the most likely option to bolster Ten Hag’s defence with numerous reports linking him with a move over the last six months.

The South Korean has been in brilliant form for the Serie A side this season with his performances helping Napoli to a first Scudetto in 33 years and a Champions League quarter-final appearance.

Kim only signed for Napoli last summer for €18m from Turkish giants Fenerbahce but there is already a chance that he will move to another club this summer with plenty of interest in the Premier League.

And now Italian publication Il Mattino claims that Kim will leave the Serie A side this summer ‘regardless of Napoli’s will’ and that a move to Man Utd is ‘practically done’.

The report adds that a ‘villa’ has been made available for Kim at Alderley Edge with Man Utd ‘preparing to pay’ his €65m release clause.

In an attempt to reduce the cost of the transfer, Man Utd ‘will try’ to offer Lindelof in part-exchange but Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis ‘only wants cash’.

KIMMICH TO THE PREMIER LEAGUE? Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich is interesting Arsenal and Liverpool ahead of the summer transfer window, according to reports.

In report mainly about Barcelona’s interest in Kimmich, Marca claims that the Bayern Munich man ‘would be delighted to arrive at the Camp Nou’ in the summer.

However, the ‘problem’ that Barcelona have is that ‘he is a very expensive player’ and has two years left on his contract in Bavaria.

It is likely to prove ‘very difficult’ to sign Kimmich ‘under these conditions’ and Bayern will ‘not going to give him away’ with his price tag unlikely to ‘drop below €60m’.

Arsenal and Liverpool ‘are also interested’ in the Germany international and ‘so much competition is another obstacle for Barcelona’.

AND THE REST… Tottenham have resumed talks with former Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann, although he wants to know who will be sporting director before committing…Liverpool have almost agreed personal terms with Brighton midfielder Alexis Mac Allister…Brighton manager Roberto de Zerbi has told the board to block any bids for Kaoru Mitoma with Mac Allister and Moises Caicedo set to leave this summer…Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has asked president Florentino Perez to sign Tottenham forward Richarlison…West Ham manager David Moyes is planning to leave at the end of the season.
