Anwar El Ghazi left PSV Eindhoven last week and can move as a free-agent.
Yet another ‘what the actual f***?’ moment for Manchester United: the Red Devils are planning a move for ex-Villa and Everton winger Anwar El Ghazi…
UNITED TURN TO FREEBIE WINGER Manchester United have a problem with their right flank. Despite their best efforts, the Red Devils won’t be re-integrating Mason Greenwood back into the first-team picture; Jadon Sancho has gone rogue; and Antony is currently taking time away from Old Trafford as he prepares to defend himself against allegations of violence against women.
The answer: Anwar El Ghazi.
The Daily Mail says United are weighing up a move or the Dutchman – of course – who is currently a free agent. El Ghazi left PSV Eindhoven last week by mutual consent so the 28-year-old, who has also represented Everton, Aston Villa and Ajax, would be able to sign for United outside the transfer window.
El Ghazi watched United’s defeat to Arsenal with his agent amid reports that he had been offered a return to the Premier League, while the winger is also said to be attracting interest from Saudi Arabia.
SANCHO LOOKS FOR EXIT AFTER TEN HAG TALKS It was after the defeat to Arsenal that the Sancho situation blew up. The £72million winger failed to make Erik ten Hag’s matchday squad because, according to his manager, of his performances in training.
Sancho took to social media within an hour to label Ten Hag a liar and declare himself a scapegoat for, well, we’re still not sure. Regardless, in doing so, it seems the ex-England star torched most of his bridges at Old Trafford.
After a week to simmer down, Sancho is said to have met with Ten Hag at Carrington on Monday, but the Daily Star reckons the pair failed to settle their differences during the summit and the 23-year-old will look to leave Old Trafford. Turkey could be an option if he wants a quick getaway, as might be Qatar.
Record says the Gunners offered Sporting Lisbon £30million for defender Ousmane Diomande but the Portuguese side refused to do business.
However, Arsenal won’t be deterred. They are said to have told Sporting to expect further interest in the teenager they signed from Midtjylland for around £5million only last January.
