Happy Monday!
The new season is just around the corner but there’s still some transfer business to get done before then …
Manchester City have been linked with Jack Grealish and Harry Kane all summer. While a deal for the former now appears closer, the same can’t be said of the latter.
According to Manchester Evening News and the Daily Mail, City are unlikely to sign both players this summer.
Sticking with Spurs, the Times report that the north London club have moved closer than ever to a £47m deal to sign Cristian Romero from Atalanta.
Former Arsenal man Aaron Ramsey is still being linked with a move away from Juventus and the Daily Mail claim there is interest from Wolves.
Granit Xhaka has been linked with a move away from Arsenal this summer but those rumours were put to bed by the Gunners’ boss over the weekend.
“Xhaka is staying,” Arteta said after the midfielder scored against Chelsea in a friendly on Sunday. “He wanted to play. He is a key player for us.”
Over in Spain, AS say Barcelona remain in pole position to sign Saùl from Atlético Madrid this summer.
The midfielder has been linked with a Premier League switch.
It was another quiet Sunday in the transfer market, with Gary Cahill confirming his departure from Crystal Palace the best we can offer you.
