Real Madrid’s stance over Jude Bellingham comes as a huge boost to Liverpool, while Barcelona are looking to make up to six new signings this summer despite being unable to fully register the players they already have. But first, to Chelsea…

CHELSEA FORCED TO OFFLOAD STARS  So Todd Boehly’s idea to dish out eight and nine-year contracts perhaps isn’t the stroke of FFP genius he thought it might be. Who’d have thought?

Despite their financial gymnastics through the summer and winter transfer windows, The Times says Chelsea are still facing the prospect of a fire sale in order to comply with Premier League spending rules.

The Blues reported a loss of £121million for last season, following a £153.4million loss the previous campaign. The club are blaming the sanctions imposed on previous owner Roman Abramovich, which undoubtedly is a factor. But so too is the £600million spree Boehly has indulged in since taking over.

At risk of being shunted towards the exit door are Mason Mount and Conor Gallagher among a number of other stars. Even if Givemesport reckons Boehly has taken a personal interest in keeping Mount, who is heading towards the final year of his contract, with Liverpool heavily linked with the England attacker.

BARCA TO SELL ANSU FATI TO FUND SIGNINGS Compared to Barcelona, Chelsea are a model of sustainability. Barca have been, and remain, a financial basket case.

Still, Mundo Deportivo reckons that won’t stop them from making moves in the summer transfer window. Indeed, it is claimed the Catalans will sign ‘five or six’ new players, with ‘three or four at zero cost and with a very tight salary’.

Amid all that, Barca still have to slash their current wage bill, with the full registrations of current players like Gavi and Ronald Araujo still pending.

Sky Germany says Bayern Munich are monitoring Gavi’s situation, with the starlet set to become a free agent in the summer if Barca don’t get their sh*t together in the meantime.

Barca are also set to lose another academy graduate, with Fichajes reporting that Ansu Fati will be sold to raise a few euros . The forward has been linked in the past with Manchester United.

Real Madrid are also looking to tighten their belts this summer. Which could be great news for Liverpool.

Real have been vying with the Reds to sign Jude Bellingham, who is set to leave Borussia Dortmund this summer. But only for massive money. Which appears to have put Real off pursuing a deal.

Marca says Bellingham’s ever-increasing price has grown too large for Real and they have now decided against moving for the England star. Which surely puts Liverpool in pole position to land their priority target.
