Arsenal have had their first bid for Declan Rice rejected, according to the Daily Mail and the Telegraph.

And it gets worse for the Gunners, with the Athletic and others reporting that Manchester City are now looking into making an approach.

The north London club have already seen off interest from Manchester United and Bayern Munich, who have reportedly cooled their jets, with Rice said to be keen on remaining in the capital. But could the recently crowned treble winners turn his head?

It feels like things are already a long way down the line for Arsenal and Rice — and it seems the Gunners are confident with the Times adding that they have now withdrawn their interest in Moises Caicedo, who is being targeted by Chelsea and Manchester United — but nothing is a done deal until the pen hits the paper, and Manchester City have the pull to turn anyone’s head.

Sticking with City for a second, and the Athletic also report Kyle Walker may have played his last game for the club. The defender has just one year remaining on his contract and is said to have been frustrated by a decrease in his playing time.

Elsewhere, Sandro Tonali and Milan are on the same page and are both willing to reject Premier League interest, report Gazzetta dello Sport. That news comes after more from Milan — Newcastle are said to be closing in on a £50m deal for Inter midfielder Nicolò Barella.

The Italy international could reportedly cost £50m in a story broken by the Telegraph on Wednesday evening, though Fabrizio Romano has claimed it will take another £20m for Inter to sell.

Staying in Italy for a moment, and Sport1 and Sky Italia claim Bayern Munich are now ahead of Manchester United in the running for Napoli defender Kim Min-jae.

On the future of Ilkay Gündogan, the Athletic say he will not move to Saudi Arabia despite interest from there, while BILD report that Borussia Dortmund are not hoping to agree a deal for the out of contract midfielder despite holding “intense” internal conversations over whether to try to resign the German.

Over in Spain, widespread reports claim Real Madrid are only looking to sign striker Joselu on loan but Espanyol are pushing to include an obligation that sees the switch become permanent.
