Manchester City may have been happy to let Alexis go to the other side of the city, but according to reports in the Manchester Evening News this morning, they’re desperate to sign another midfielder.

With Fabian Delph’s fitness becoming an ever-increasing concern, Pep Guardiola’s side are looking to bring in Shakhtar Donetsk’s Fred before the end of the month. The 25-year-old is likely to cost €50m.

Lucas Moura has finally admitted he’s “not happy” at Paris Saint-Germain. The Brazilian forward has fallen down the pecking order at the Ligue 1 club, and whilst speaking to L’Equipe the 25-year-old has revealed he wants to leave.

Tottenham are thought to be the favourites for his signature, with the French paper claiming that the north London are looking to loan Lucas until the end of the season.

With Christian Benteke about as much use as a chocolate teapot this season, Crystal Palace are on the lookout for a new striker this month.

Reports in the Daily Mail indicate that the club have started talks with Inter Milan forward Éder – who’s actually scored the same amount of goals (1) as Benteke this season…but who’s counting?

Daniel Sturridge is a name you’ll have seen quite regularly in this column over the past few weeks. And today’s no different.

There’s conflicting reports from two separate outlets as to where the Liverpool striker is going this month. TuttoMercato believe the striker will snub Roma and Inter Milan for Valencia. Whilst the Daily Star insist he won’t snub Roma at all, and will instead jump at the chance to play in the Eternal City. Basically – no one knows where he’s going.

Tuesday’s piece of gold is their report that Neymar has told Real Madrid he will join them from Paris Saint-Germain, but will only come if they agree to sign Antoine Greizmann and Eden Hazard as well.

Fantasy Football ?

Chelsea’s hunt for a striker could be about to end. A number of different outlets – including Goal and The Mirror – believe that Edin Džeko will join the club this week.

It’s claimed that the Bosnia international will join from Roma alongside his team-mate Emerson Palmieri. The Italian club are set to receive €50m for the pair.

Tuesday morning’s papers are confident that Newcastle will sign two new players this month.

Rafael Benítez has called out owner Mike Ashley in the press, insisting that the club need to invest if they’re to stay up this season.

The Daily Express reckon that Atletico Madrid striker Kevin Gameiro will join on loan until the end of the campaign, whilst the Daily Mail believe that Chelsea forward Kenedy will also sign on a short-term deal. That’ll please Rafa.
